Concrete Industries
Concrete Industries needed to replace the steel hopper at the top of a concrete tower
- The steel hopper turned out to be bracing the top of the concrete walls
- S3PC designed a temporary support structure
- Steel tubes braced concrete walls and supported 80-ft conveyor
Pharmaceutical and Modular Design
UpStream Pharmacy Modularity Feasibility Study
UpStream Pharmacy is initiating a mass scaling of facilities throughout the United States. S3PC was asked to perform a structural feasibility study of using modular construction.
- Structural design of modules subjecting to loading and displacements associated with transportation, erection, assembly, and final condition
- Enveloped wind, seismic, and snow loads in moderate and high-level designs
- Used Finite Element Analysis (FEM) to evaluate stresses, deformations, and displacements throughout modules
- Worked with multiple steel fabricators throughout the U.S. to attain cost estimates for budgeting purposes

Vertical Addition
VAMC Oklahoma City, OK SPS Expansion
Designed 1-story vertical expansion on existing 7-story tower
- Performed analysis to ensure could add story on existing structure
- Designed new columns and lateral-force-resisting system to optimal locations of existing structure
- Analyzed multiple configurations of new structure to accommodate phasing required by multiple concurrent projects
